Leaving his hometown of Gujarat, India, to live and build a career in Vietnam, Mr. Abhishek a successful businessman has always carried a deep love for his cultural roots. However, his journey of integration in this new land was met with a seemingly small yet persistent challenge: his daily meals.
As a lifelong Jain vegetarian, his strict dietary adherence to purity made finding suitable food in Vietnam a daily struggle. This personal experience prompted Mr. Abhishek to look closer at the community around him. He realized that he was not alone; a vast majority of the Indian expatriate community in Vietnam was sharing the same deep yearning for a “taste of home”authentic, wholesome, and traditional vegetarian meals.
Deeply empathetic to the homesickness of his fellow expats, and fueled by a passionate desire to spread a healthy, plant-based lifestyle to the local community, Mr. Abhishek decided to turn his personal struggle into a purposeful mission.
In 2024, Tanishq vegetarian restaurant was officially established at 258 Ly Tu Trong, embodying the heart and soul of the Gujarati entrepreneur. Tanishq was born not just as a dining venue, but as the ultimate solution to the dietary challenges faced by the Jain and Indian expat community in Vietnam. Beyond that, Mr. Abhishek envisioned Tanishq as a cultural bridge, where local and international diners could savor the true essence of Indian vegetarian cuisine in an atmosphere as warm and welcoming as their own homes.
Tanishq stands as a testament to the fact that a love for one’s roots and a passion for gastronomy can transcend borders, creating lasting value for the entire community.
Tanishq envisions being the premier Indian vegetarian culinary haven in the city center, offering a beautiful intersection of authentic flavors and multicultural dining. Driven by a commitment to purity and tradition, we elevate heritage recipes using the freshest, safest natural ingredients to deliver wholesome meals that break plant-based stereotypes and inspire an eco-conscious lifestyle. More than just a restaurant, Tanishq is a welcoming space of connection where our dedicated team radiates genuine hospitality. We strive to erase cultural barriers, uniting local diners, international tourists, and the Indian expat community in Vietnam through the universal language of food.
At Tanishq restaurant, we are immensely proud to introduce our team of talented chefs true artisans who carry a passionate love for the ingredients and flavors of their homeland.
Hailing from culturally rich regions across India, each chef is a vital piece that completes the perfect culinary mosaic at Tanishq. They bring together the vibrant elegance of the desert state of Rajasthan, alongside the pure, serene essence of the sacred mountainous region of Uttarakhand and the beautiful valley city of Dehradun.
Arriving in Vietnam, they brought with them secret recipes preserved through generations, pouring their hearts into maintaining the authentic taste of their respective regions. Under the masterful hands of our chefs, every vegetarian dish at Tanishq is not merely a harmonious blend of signature spices, but a sensory-awakening journey that allows diners to touch the very soul of incredible India.
Gujaratis are globally renowned not only for their brilliant business acumen but also for their profound life philosophies, especially regarding food. At Tanishq, this philosophy is not just a business guideline; it is the heartbeat of our restaurant’s daily operations, shaped directly by our founder’s cultural roots and faith.
Zero Waste – A Lesson in Both Business and Morality:
In Gujarati culture, particularly among those who practice Jainism, all resources are considered precious gifts from Mother Earth. Wasting food is not merely an economic loss; more importantly, it is seen as a lack of respect for the hard work of farmers and the natural world. At Tanishq, the “zero waste” principle is rigorously applied from the precise sourcing of ingredients to culinary techniques that optimize every component. We believe that a truly sustainable restaurant must start with valuing every single grain of rice and every leaf of green.
Cherishing Every Vegetarian Meal. A Ritual of Gratitude:
For Gujaratis, vegetarianism is far more than a dietary choice; it is the ultimate expression of Ahimsa (Non-violence) a profound love and respect for all living beings. Every vegetarian meal served is a culmination of purity, peace, and blessings. Therefore, cherishing each dish is a daily practice of gratitude.
When dining at Tanishq, guests are not just enjoying authentically flavorful traditional dishes; they are embarking on a cultural journey. It is a place where gastronomy seamlessly blends with a sustainable, compassionate, and mindful business philosophy from the heart of Gujarat.
The Journey of Spreading Goodwill and Sharing Hometown Flavors by Founder Abhishek
Amidst the hustle and bustle of Saigon, there are small corners that always shine brightly with human warmth. We believe that food is not just meant to be enjoyed; it is also a language of love and sharing. That is why every month, our founder himself – Mr. Abhishek – maintains a deeply meaningful activity dedicated to the community.
Spreading the Essence of Hometown Cuisine
More than just charity meals, each portion prepared and handed out by Mr. Abhishek is imbued with the traditional flavors of his homeland. Through these vegan dishes cooked with utmost dedication, he hopes to bring random locals around the Ly Tu Trong area a chance to taste and experience a new, pure culinary culture.
To him, introducing his hometown’s culture does not necessarily have to take place in luxurious spaces; sometimes, it begins right from these simple meal boxes handed out on a familiar street corner.
Reaching Out to Less Fortunate Lives
Besides introducing his cuisine, the core focus of this monthly CSR activity is always directed toward impoverished laborers and those struggling to make a living on the streets.
A warm, fragrant meal filled with traditional spices not only helps them alleviate their hunger after hours of grueling work but also serves as a profound source of spiritual encouragement. Seeing the radiant smiles of the recipients as they savor a foreign yet heartfelt flavor is the greatest motivation for Mr. Abhishek and our team to continue this journey.
Social Responsibility from Simple Deeds
Contributing to the community has never been a distant slogan; rather, it consists of practical actions consistently carried out every month. By sharing the flavors of his homeland with strangers and those in difficult circumstances, Mr. Abhishek hopes to kindle warm fires of hope, bringing people closer together through kindness and compassion.
